Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery or 3D brows, is a relatively new manual method for enhancing eyebrows. It is considered to be permanent makeup, as compared to the traditional hair stroke technique done by machine. It is done using a handheld tool (pen) with a very fine needle grouping to deposit pigment into the dermis. Because the color is closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no spilling under the skin.
Manual brow shading technique is performed manually with a microblading pen. It is a perfect way to give your microbladed eyebrows a thicker, bolder makeup look. It is normally done on top of your microbladed eyebrows. When done in combination with microblading, the treatment is often referred to as combo-brows. Manual shading is a semi-permanent technique like microblading.
Powder Brows are created with a micropigmentation machine and it is recommended for customers that want a soft or darker ombre makeup look. This procedure is also recommended for customers that are not good candidates for microblading due to either previous permanent makeup, large pores or oily skin.
Henna brows are a form of eyebrow tinting that is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of this is to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area, visually filling in any sparseness. Henna is natural dye made from a plant known as hina or the henna tree.
How long does a henna brow treatment last?
Henna brow treatments often claim to stain the skin for up to two weeks and dye the hair up to six weeks.
The tattoo and PMU removal technique is a method of tattoo and PMU ink extraction which is designed to remove tattoo and permanent makeup (PMU) ink pigments from the body. This method works much like having the original tattoo and PMU, but instead of ink it uses a specially formulated chemical that bonds with the original tattoo and PMU ink to draw it to the skin surface. The removal formula is delivered to the ink using a high specification digital permanent make-up machine.
It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in.
If it is performed properly, results should last anywhere between 18 and 36 months. Once pigment from the procedure begins to noticeably fade, it is recommended to come back for a “touch-up” application. Touch-ups may be necessary every six months or every year, depending on your skin type and preferred look.
We use a topical anesthetic so there is very little discomfort. In fact, many clients fall asleep during the treatment!
The cost of a touch up depends on the length of time since your previous treatment. The longer the time, the more pigment has likely faded, the more work needs to be done to touch up your brows. We will review all pricing with you in your consultation! 🙂
You will have very clear instructions for aftercare, which is essential in the healing process in order to achieve the best results. There are certain limitations regarding sun exposure, sweating, going in a pool, etc. for a brief time after the treatment.
